Commit

Another crazy, busy weekend. I attended a Triathlon Camp in Calgary hosted by Sara Gross, Carrie Meakin & Clint Lien. It started with some of the worst icy roads I've been on and ended with a Grey Cup game.
One of the things that really stuck in my mind was the the word "commit". We were learning how to do flip turns but every time I came to the wall I wouldn't tuck well enough and missed the flip. Clint kept saying commit, commit. Two things we fear is the risk of injury and the risk of failure or being embarrassed; neither is going to happen. Commit. Didn't completely make it this time around but that word stuck in my mind. I used it at a training session this morning for a difficult routine and it works. Try it, concentrate on the word the next time you have to do something you think you can't do. You can and will do it.

  2. Was nice to meet you! Follow my blog, or Jenna's to Julies, and look for the videos she has there, mid October or so. Those will help you build confidence doing flip turns, even if it looks stupid playing with the pool noodle.

A blog is a great way to build accountability for training.
